A stronger foundation for ZED Roof Cleaning
A local service website has an important job: help people understand the work, trust the team and make an enquiry without having to think twice. For ZED Roof Cleaning, serving Nottingham and the surrounding areas, we rebuilt the website around that journey.
The project combined a move away from WordPress with a refreshed design, better enquiry handling, a renewed blog and detailed performance work. The result is a purpose-built website that retains ZED's familiar identity while giving the business a much stronger platform to build on.
Why rebuild rather than simply change the design?
The brief went beyond a new homepage. The website needed a cleaner technical foundation, a more straightforward way to manage content and clearer routes from a service page to an enquiry. Adding more features to the existing WordPress setup would not have addressed that wider goal.
We replaced it with a bespoke Laravel application, bringing the public website and its administration workspace into one system. Content, enquiries, reviews and settings can now be managed together, with less reliance on a collection of separate plugins and tools.
A refreshed look that still feels like ZED
We kept the recognisable orange-and-charcoal branding and real project photography, then refined the layout, typography and navigation. Roof cleaning, moss removal, gutter cleaning, roof repairs, pressure washing and tree services each have a clearer place in the website.
Prominent quote buttons, tap-to-call links, before-and-after photography and consistent customer-review sections help visitors find the information they need. The layouts were checked across phones, tablets and desktop browsers, including fixes for oversized review cards and visible font changes during page loading.
Built to turn interest into an enquiry
Good design should make the next step obvious. We improved the contact journey with practical features for both visitors and the business:
Direct WhatsApp contact: a recognisable contact button and a helpful prompt give visitors another simple way to start a conversation.
Quick phone access: clear call buttons make it easy for mobile visitors to contact the team.
Service-specific quote forms: enquiries retain the relevant service and page context, helping the team understand what the customer is asking about.
Saved leads and email notifications: submissions are recorded in the admin workspace, with configurable email recipients for the team.
Clear form feedback: required fields and privacy consent are explained, followed by a dedicated thank-you page after a successful submission.
Consent-aware measurement: the enquiry journey can be measured while respecting visitors' analytics and marketing choices.
These features make the enquiry process easier to use and easier to manage. They provide a foundation for follow-up and future campaigns, rather than relying on visitors to search for a phone number or send an unstructured message.
The blog was rebuilt too
The existing blog was reviewed, refreshed and moved into the new system. Established articles retained their original publication dates, while the new blog templates provide clearer headings, featured images and a more consistent reading experience.
The new admin supports drafts, scheduled publishing and previews, making it easier to prepare useful roof-care and property-maintenance content in advance. Searchable post lists and image previews make everyday editing more straightforward.
We also checked the search foundations around the migration: redirects from changed URLs, page titles and descriptions, canonical links, heading structure and the sitemap. Existing links have a route to the relevant new pages, alongside a cleaner structure for future content.
Four 100/100 scores on mobile and desktop

The performance work went beyond compressing a few images. We refined the loading order, stabilised the opening layout, served responsive AVIF and WebP images, kept fonts on the site's own hosting and used native lazy loading for images further down the page. Browser caching was checked so unchanged images can be reused and replacement images appear correctly.
In a Google PageSpeed Insights homepage audit on 5 November 2026, the rebuilt site achieved the following results on both mobile and desktop:
Performance: 100/100
Accessibility: 100/100
Best Practices: 100/100
SEO: 100/100
The measured Largest Contentful Paint was 1.1 seconds on mobile and 0.3 seconds on desktop, with zero measured layout shift in both runs. In plain English, the main visible content appeared quickly and stayed in place during the test.

Easier to manage, ready for what comes next
The new administration workspace gives the business control over page sections, blog posts, images, reviews, FAQs and search settings. Updates are checked in a separate, protected staging environment before an approved release reaches the live website.
For ZED, that means a refreshed online presence, a more organised enquiry workflow and a faster website on a maintainable foundation. For visitors, it means clearer information and a simpler path to getting a quote.

Client review“Siverno built our site and just handles it. I haven’t thought about hosting or updates once. Enquiries come straight to my phone, and when I wanted the prices changed it was done the same day.”
